Submission process
When your application is received, our team will assess it against our grant criteria. If your application has a high score, your project will be shortlisted. All applicants will be notified of the outcome by Friday, 7 February 2025.
If you are shortlisted, you will be asked to prepare a two to three-minute video by 23 October, 2024 covering:
- a brief introduction to your organisation, or about yourself (if you are applying as an individual)
- your understanding of the challenges those of us with mental distress or illness face. What kinds of judgements and discrimination do people with mental distress experience, and what are impacts on a person of being judged or discriminated against?
- how your project will help end mental distress discrimination for your priority group.
When you have sent your video to us, your shortlisted written grant application and video will be assessed by an independent judging panel. The panel will be comprised of people with lived experience as well as people from Māori, Pacific, and Rainbow communities. This independent judging panel will decide which grant applications are funded.
Your application will be assessed against the following scorecard, which has a total of 100 points.
Scorecard points:
- Your project clearly shows how it will help end mental distress discrimination: 50 points
- Your project clearly addresses equity issues for the communities most impacted by mental distress discrimination: 15 points
- Your project clearly shows the tools and methods it will use to help end mental distress discrimination: 10 points
- Your budget is clear, accurate and realistic: 25 points.
